The Briar Patch is showing the film, "What's Organic About Organic?" tonight, Friday night, at 6:30. It's a little over an hour long. It was shown at the Wild and Scenic Film Festival but I missed it so am going.
I've seen most, if not all, of the recent food movies, with the exception of King Corn. I can probably guess the story line of that one.
I think the message is clear and probably good in all of them about the ridiculousness of corporate greed versus taking care of what takes care of us. What's Organic further explores some of this idea and shows the impact on the local grower when the larger grower can import to a locality for less than the local grower can grow food.
Not now but sometime in the future I'm going to address the idea of mass produced "organic" food. The idea was sparked by a friend who talked about the "organic" versus non-organic ramen noodles, which had me chuckling on a number of different levels.
